Saving That Green For The Seventeen

On March 17, 2009 and almost every preceding and succeeding years, the Chicago River turns green. In many parts of the country, avid followers dye streets and hue bodies of waters even those that were artificially made. Last year, the fountain fronting the White House flowed green liquid. History recorded that some bunch of Irish solders wore green workwear uniforms in order to show their protest and advance their political statement to authorities. Today, news outlets reported that thousands have been preparing for the great green event. Later, many cities from around the country will be hosting their own long parade.

For several centuries now, the Irish people still celebrates the St. Patrick’s Day. All the supposed unusual greening of the environment stated in the first paragraph has something to do with this celebration. This celebration was primarily a religious observation but has been slowly observed as a secular holiday in the long

The Orlando Magic Play to Make Their First NBA Finals Trophy Appear

Do you believe in magic? Though only about two decades old, the Orlando Magic have already made 10 appearances in the NBA playoffs, won three division crowns, a pair of trips to the Eastern Conference Finals, and one trip to the NBA Finals. Next on the team’s wish list is their franchise’s first NBA Championship.

What is magical about Orlando’s name? After a “name the team” contest, the three finalists were:

• The Juice
• The Magic
• The Tropics

The franchise chose “The Magic,” which alludes to Orlando’s top attraction: The Walt Disney World Resort. As the largest and most visited resort on Earth, it is indeed magical for both the children and adults who visit it.

After a four-year grassroots effort, the Orlando Magic began an NBA expansion team during the 1989-1990 season. Unfortunately, their first season in the league was less than magical. The New Jersey Nets trapped the Magic

BOSTON(AP) Ray Allen landed the final blow in a memorable duel with Ben Gordon on Monday night, shooting the Boston Celtics back into their first-round series. Allen made a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 2 seconds left and finished with 30 points, leading the Celtics a 118-115 win over the Chicago Bulls. Gordon nearly carried Chicago to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. He scored with 12.3 seconds left to tie it, the final hoop of his playoff career-high 42 points. Then Boston set up a play for Allen, who took a pass from Rajon Rondo and connected from the right side. Allen scored 28 points after getting some advice from coach Doc Rivers at halftime. “Doc said going into the half, ‘Be aggressive, but let it come to you,”’ Allen said. “I never think I’m not in my rhythm. It can be a grind as a shooter. As a scorer you’re always trying to find something.” Allen and Gordon each had several clutch baskets in the second half as the former University of Connecticut guards battled for control of the game. After Tyrus Thomas missed a shot from midcourt as time expired, Allen headed for his bench where injured Kevin Garnett delivered a couple of congratulatory slaps – to his head and chest. Allen said he doesn’t like “being made a fuss over.” But that was unavoidable after he broke out of his shooting slump. He scored just four points on 1-for-12 shooting and missed the final shot in Chicago’s 105-103 overtime win Saturday. “It felt like we were at UConn in the summertime

Top basketball Part-II

Those who are top basketball players on the court don’t always translate to top basketball executives when their careers end. Larry Bird has had some success in his post playing career; having worked for a top basketball franchise like the Indiana Pacers after playing for a top basketball franchise like the Celtics for a solid number of years. During most of his time as a player Bird was one of the most universally recognized top basketball players in the world. If you are one of the top basketball players within the NBA during a certain era or decade there is a high probability that you will end up with a bunch of endorsement deals that will only your amount of exposure to the public.

Other NBA executives merely played a specific role on a team instead of being one of the top basketball players akin to what Bird was. John Paxson for example who has been in the front office for the Bulls for nearly a decade was indeed a role player and a three point

Boston Celtics Tickets And Seating Chart

For many, just the mention of the name of the Boston Celtics incites them to excitement and anticipation of the action that these guys bring to the floor virtually every time there’s a game and the Celtics are involved. Whether it’s their recent fall to the Atlanta Hawks on their own territory in their most recent game against the Hawks or one of the many wins the Celtics have experienced on their home court. Although Rajon Rondo lead with 17 points in the first half, it wasn’t enough to keep the team from losing and the victory went to the Hawks 102-96. The game on January 11th marks the second loss for the Celtics in the month of January. The balance of the games for the month have been wins against the Toronto Raptors 103-96, Miami Heat 112-106, and against the Raptors again on January 10th with a final score of 114-107.

Some might argue that the games have been pretty close and that it could have easily tossed up to be anyone’s game but fans, players

That game’s combined score sailed OVER the posted total of 192 at online sportsbooks.

The Trail Blazers could only score 8-points in overtime while LaMarcus Aldridge netted 32-points with seven rebounds in the loss. “Last game I couldn’t buy a bucket [4 for 12 in a win against Toronto]. A Perspective on the 2008 NBA Barter Deadline

Check out my live internet radio show, listen to the most recent show and make sure to look for the next scheduled show, I have 6 co-hosts including hoopsencyclopedia, also, you can call in: www.blogtalkradio.com LeBron James 40 points game 2 highlights Cavs vs Bulls 2010 NBA Playoffs CLEVELAND — Joakim Noah had to go back for one more look. Walking slowly across the confetti-littered court, Noah stopped at the spot just outside the arc where LeBron James had pulled up in his face and made a 3-pointer. “That’s a long way,” Noah said, shaking his head in disbelief as he looked at the distant rim. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” The Chicago Bulls kept daring James to shoot jumpers. He obliged. “They were telling me I can’t make jump shots,” James said. “They asked me to shoot a jumper so I did that. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.” James scored 40 points — 15 in a tour-de-force fourth quarter — as the Cavaliers, fueled by a rabid home crowd that booed every move by Noah, maintained home-court advantage by beating the Bulls 112-102 on Monday night to take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference playoffs. James added eight rebounds and eight assists for the Cavs, who led 96-93 with 4:30 left before the league’s soon-to-be-two-time MVP took over. He hit his 3 with the 6-foot-11 Noah coming at him and followed with a quick dance move and wink directed at Chicago’s talkative bench. James then made two free throws, a layup and two jumpers

A Perspective on the 2008 NBA Barter Deadline

Thursday is the NBA barter borderline and so far we’ve had some huge NBA blockbuster trades. But for some odd acumen I do accept we could see two or three added trades that could affect playoff agriculture and bank trends. Let’s face it, I’m attractive at all of these trades, NBA rumors, and boutique allocution and I’m apprehensive how will this affect my NBA action and handicapping.

Here are some NBA Trades that accept already happened:

Mike Bibby goes from Sacramento to Atlanta for Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright, Shelden Williams and a 2008 additional annular abstract pick. (Gambling Perspective) Bet adjoin this Kings aggregation and they are apparently not done auction players, which is a abiding assurance they are giving up on this division and attractive appear the future. For Atlanta, this is a huge barter for playoff agriculture and watch out for the Over/Under they column for this Hawk team. I’m attractive to bet the over

A limping Reggie Miller scored 13 of his 28 points in the final 4 1/2 minutes and the Indiana Pacers survived a furious late rally by the Chicago Bulls and climbed back into the Eastern Conference finals with a 107-105 victory in Game Three. “I stepped on Mike’s foot in the middle of the third quarter,” Miller said. Clearly hobbled, Miller nevertheless made three three-pointers, a 20-footer that beat the shot clock and the clinching free throws in the final 4:11. He was the only Pacer to score from the field in the last 6 1/2 minutes. “It loosened up as the game went on,” Miller said. “I knew I couldn’t drive, so I basically just played off their mistakes.” Miller made 9-of-15 shots, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc. Indiana’s bench held a 43-25 scoring advantage, including 20-6 over the final 13-plus minutes. “He said he could go,” Pacers coach Larry Bird said. “He put everything on the line and stepped up and hit the big shots.” Michael Jordan scored 30 points and Scottie Pippen added 23 for the Bulls, who suffered their first road loss of the postseason and had a five-game winning streak snapped. Chicago trimmed an eight-point deficit to 103-102 in just over a minute, but Rose and Davis each made a pair of clutch free throws before Miller sealed it. “He was hurt and I don’t know why we didn’t go at him,” Bulls guard Ron Harper said. “We had a chance in this game and we know we let a golden opportunity slip away.”

Big Names In Basketball

There are many things that people must do, despite what is currently going on in their personal life. The person may be dealing with divorce, illness, or even the death of a family member, yet they still have to go to work or take care of children. There is a former NBA player that most fans consider to be the best player ever in professional basketball. The former player’s name is Michael Jordan, and he was excellent on offense and defense. Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls, and he helped the Bulls to win six titles.

Unfortunately, despite his talent, things weren’t always great for Michael Jordan. Along with fame and fortune comes heartbreak, just like for everyone else. In 1995, Michael and the Bulls played the season of a lifetime, and were headed to the playoffs once again. But in the middle of everything, something happened that no one had ever expected. Michael Jordan’s dad was shot and killed in his home in North Carolina. Of course
